MEET THE CRUDE BAKER

Cecile is The Crude Baker. For so many years, she was content on cooking and baking different foods just for family and friends. When she discovered that she most enjoyed baking breads and baked confections, she started developing and creating versions of her favorite ones. Through many sessions of trials and errors, she was able to come up with a variety of baked goods that not only satisfied her own palate but also those of her family and friends.

Cecile is a self-taught baker — she learned how to bake through short courses, recipe books, and online videos. She created her breads and pastries just like the rustic baked goods that she likes so much. She uses a baking style that is homelike and a little bit “crude” as seen in the “freeforms” of her galettes and the “unevens” on her breads. And for this… she thought it was just right to describe herself as a crude baker.
